genderless news?

This is not commentary so much as it is curiousity. 

I wonder what it would be like if the news were reported without reference to gender.

How would that change our micro- and macro-cultural perspectives - on the world, on other people, on our social systems?

I'm not saying the news should or should not be reported that way, I'm just curious what the effect would be.
